UPDATE DECEMBER 2008
A lot of interesting work is either at the quotation and specification stage, or is soon to be underway. I am awaiting confirmation of extensive hedgerow restoration work in Worcestershire, and a restoration and laying contract in North Yorkshire. This month will see the start of some hedge restoration work phased work over a number of years at a site in Cambridgeshire, comprising extensive relic hawthorn, willow and blackthorn boundaries. A subsequent part of this job will be the establishment of a woodland corridor, linking two lengths of hedge within an 18 acre site.
Smaller scale jobs in hand include some hazel coppice work, garden hedge restoration and some felling of overgrown garden trees.
As per last month - still available - anyone interested in hedges may like to get a free copy of the information pack and DVD - "A cut above the rest" produced by the Hedgelink partnership. Available from Natural England - 0845 6003078.
Work lined up for the next few months includes more boundary restoration work in various locations in Yorkshire, some coppicing of hazel for hedging and garden uses, plus giving advice and support on hedge problems and completing follow-up inspections and 'customer care' matters.
The Hedgeman is available to make site visits and give quotations promptly for work this coming season ............ so do phone (07930 90 46 17) with any questions or requirements.
Minor changes to the web site are still being made, along with more case studies to give a greater range of examples.
I look forward to hearing from you.
